Together Again

Last weekends post must have been incentive to get the tractor together. My original projection was for the fall and low and behold this weekend it wheeled itself out of the barn. It hasn't done any work at this point other than look pretty in the yard.

Last night the girls and I took a road trip to Jason's house. They were having fireworks in town. We headed out for them just before 9 thinking that would be kick off time. However, there were bands playing and they didn't start until 10. The girls were a little antsy but once the show started they were impressed. This morning when we got up the girls took the dog, Diesel, to the pond to throw sticks in the water. That was a hit. Followed by 4-wheeler rides. Both girls were tired when they went to bed tonight. Great time and fun to connect with old friends!

Happy Father's Day

I haven't been much into blogging lately and tonight Gary asked if I had made a post lately. So I decided maybe I should try it again. There has been so much happening this past month that I really didn't want to blog on that. But today was Father's Day and it was a day to honor Dad's and projects.

One of the projects that has been an ongoing project now for a year and a half has been the "tractor". Many of you know of the "tractor". What started as a knocking noise became a lengthy project. Gary refers to it as the "David Brown" and I refer to it as the "Divorce". A short timeline of events. Fall of 2007, the noise is heard. December of 2007 the tractor is split and the motor is pulled to send to the machine shop. July of 2008 the motor comes home. Fall of 2008 the tractor is running but Gary decides won't it be nice if we could paint it. Summer 2009 the tractor is painted. Still in pieces but painted. It might be fall before it is together again.

The project we tackled today was the back doors to the basement. It has been a daunting project not knowing what we would get into. However, my dad was so gracious to join us today and help us tackle this project. The weather cooperated and the doors went in without much hassle at all. Well I say that, but I was really weeding as the guys did all the work. I only saw a couple head scratching moments and before I knew it they were done and ready for dinner. Sorry I only took the before picture and got side tracked. If you look closely you will see that some sort of critters started to build a nest on the top left step.

And what would a day be like without the girls entertaining us. They love to play dress up and today was a day for the bride and the lion....

Happy Father's Day to all the Amazing Dads!
