This past week I was away in Nashville, TN for a Head Start conference. Unfortunately, Kelly's birthday was the same time. I had promised her a birthday cake at camp to celebrate. This weekend after my trip, with the help from Grandma Sheila we had cake at camp.

Another great cake by Grandma Sheila. The apple symbolizes the start of school for Kelly. Once the "bite" was taken out, the cake became a "5".
Our good friends Al and Jean left a gift bag in the door for Kelly to open. She was quite happy with her new markers.
And what else was in the bag? A new flashlight to find her way to the camp fire at night!
Sunday was the day to finish up Grandpa's project. What a great idea... have the kids paint a room at camp. After a test of patience for me.
